Winni’s Winners Winter Edition
Hi! It’s been awhile since I’ve written on here, but nevertheless, I hope your Winter has been full of recharging your soul and glimmers! Here’s a few “winnings” I’ve had this Winter!
Skin: My hair salon has magazines that write articles and advertise products for spas. While waiting on my appointment, I stumbled across an advertisement for this company called Eminence Organic Skincare. They have won numerous awards for their skin products. 2 of my faves are below!
Bamboo Firming Fluid: Received a sample in an order and I fell IN LOVE with the smell! I put it on before bed and it makes my skin feel so soft and plump.
Strawberry Rhubarb Hyaluronic Serum: I love strawberry scents and was looking for something to place under my moisturizer/ foundation. This also makes my skin feel soft as a part of my makeup routine.
If you’re ever in the Charlotte area, The Spa at Ballentyne carries and uses their products! You can also order online from the link below

Books: I wouldn’t call myself an avid reader, but when I read a book, it’s usually a page turner that impacts my soul and spirit in a positive way or it’s just a girly girls novel :)
Just in time for black history month, I had the privilege of meeting 2 local African American authors and educators that wrote impactful books.
Jay’s Spectrum of Colors by Jacquel Thomas (My funny & amazing former school coworker): A beautifully written/illustrated book that encompasses family and inclusion :)
2. Teaching and Reaching Black Boys by Joshua J. Bovill: Also written by an educator like the book above, gives hope, wisdom and guidance on educating African American boys (and students in general).

3. While rummaging TJ MAXX (my favorite store to unwind lol) I stumbled across this book:
Y’all!! I read this book in like 2 weeks! (Which I consider to be fast for a working mom of 2 lol) I started watching the Barefoot Contessa cooking show while in college and I was just hooked on her recipes, table settings and Jeffrey! I love how she tells her story about her life and the birth of her Barefoot Contessa brand. It’s just so well written. Each chapter is written so lively. It was like reading a movie. The book actually ended too soon for me!

Experiences: Back in December, I was able to go to Illumination Charleston presented by Southern Living Magazine. It was a late 35th birthday gift. Such a fun opportunity to meet entrepreneurs through vendors, see some of my favorite Southern Living personalities, sample tasty food and mix and mingle with other Southern Living Magazine readers!
*What I’m looking forward to for Spring 2025
Longer Days/ Spring Temps
My tulips hopefully re-blooming
My peonies blooming
Finishing painting my front porch rocking chairs
My children’s birthdays
Easter
Wearing pastels
Until next time, take care!
