Holiday Wrap-Up ‘23
Happy New Year Everyone!
I hope your 2024 is off to a great start! If not, each new day that dawns brings about a new start and fresh beginnings😊. This blog post will re-cap my December Wins! First, I’ll start with a small recap of my favorite local Christmas festival and then some winning gifts that I got myself (cause that’s just how I Christmas as an adult lol).
The first weekend of December, Rock Hill, SC always puts on a Christmas Festival called “ChristmasVille”. Now I’m not new to Rock Hill, as I am a Winthrop University graduate (Go Eagles), but my first time ever attending this festival was back in 2019. It’s now become a little staple in my family’s Christmas celebrations to kick off the holiday season. This year, my parents and my niece came up with us and they had such a nice time! The festival had free carnival rides, tons of food trucks and holiday performances by local companies. I love how they transform downtown Rock Hill into a Christmas dreamland featuring the art from local artist Vernon Grant (1902-1990), the illustrator of Snap, Crackle and Pop from Kellogg’s Cereal.
Check out the website here and maybe in the years to come, you can add this festival to your holiday itinerary!
My niece and daughter posing with one of Vernon Grant’s characters :) and a random bystander lol
Next up are my Christmas gift wins! When I got my first “big girl” job in 2014, I started buying myself my own Christmas gifts to reward myself for a hard years work as a school based SLP. Well, the tradition continues! Pictured below are some wins that I enjoyed gifting myself this year. For the record, most of these items I bought from Black Friday sales 😊 so I didn’t quite break the bank! They are also repeat “Wins” from companies featured in my inaugural blog post. I’ll add the links to my 2023 gifts wins starting from the top, and then from left to right as pictured. Here we go!
